CSSO FALL 2025 Symposium: Closing Keynote Speaker
Char Perlas, PhD MPA MS Superintendent/President, College of the Siskiyous
Dr. Char Perlas is a Filipina-American raised by immigrant parents who emphasized the importance of a higher education. As a product of the California Community College system, her efforts have focused on creating the optimal learning environment for disproportionately impacted students. She holds a Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Leadership in Higher Education, a Master of Public Administration, a Master of Science in Counseling and a Bachelor of Art in Psychology. Dr. Perlas has over 25 years of professional experience in the California Community College system, serving in roles as tenured counseling faculty, student services program manager, accreditation lead, and instructional administrator. Dr. Perlas joined College of the Siskiyous in July of 2019 as the Vice President of Academic Affairs. In February 2021, Dr. Perlas was appointed as the interim Superintendent/President and now continues to serve as the Superintendent/President since July 2022. Dr. Perlas is the third female and the first Asian American Superintendent/President since the College’s inception in 1957.

CSSO FALL 2025 Symposium cancellation policy
Please note that registration for the CSSO Fall Symposium is a complimentary benefit included with your college’s CSSO Association institutional membership dues. As such, refunds are not applicable for this event.
Please note: If you register but are later unable to attend, you must notify us in writing at cssoassociation@gmail.com no later than October 1, 2025.
Only written cancellations received by this deadline will qualify for a $575.00 credit toward your registration for the Spring 2026 Student Services Leadership Conference.
No Spring Conference credit will be issued if:
You registered for the Fall Symposium, did NOT attend and failed to cancel by the deadline (regardless of circumstances). You will NOT receive a credit and will be responsible for paying the full registration fee should you choose to attend the Spring Conference.
This policy ensures we can manage event planning effectively and offer the opportunity to others who may benefit from attendance.
